What model is that mower?

It has been a tough year up in the North East, too much rain causing havoc with all the Cucurbita, a daily fight against the downy mildew. The Japanese beetles are on everything, fruit and vegetables alike, they killed one of my plum trees and last but not least there has been a explosion of purslane (Portulacaria afra). I know it is one of the plants that contain very high antioxidants and we do put it in our salads and soups, but next year I will have to till the small patch of it that I have deep into the ground to get it back under control. Thanks for the personal observations you have been making in your recent videos , one does begin to wonder when all this madness will end and when we feel alone in the struggle my wife and I always try to remember all things are in His hands and all will come right in His time not ours. We thank Him for our health, our families and what He has blessed us with in this life. Stay strong and as the saying goes "Keep Up The Good Fight"

Great video,like what your doing with the video's, you got you a good mower,can tell how dry it is there by the tire marks on the mowing,grass wont die for a while it just goes dormant,till it rains,no rain it will die eventually,was in the turf business for 22 years,pumped 660 gallons a minute when needed on irrigation out of a lake

Pray you get some more moisture in your part of the country. Are you able to do any irrigation? Of course for us without irrigation we could not even grow a disturbance. I am pumping water from 372 ft deep well, with a 5 horse pump. Summer has finally arrived, we are to be well over 100 degrees for the next five days. Sunday being the warmest at 108. Headed out to the farm for the fourth, staying in the motor home. Glad the air conditioning works well in it. Missed Monday night live, had a wild land fire close by, so the power company shut the power off. Finally started the generator and got us back in business. Have a great 4th, be careful and be safe. Pray for our country. Blessings to you folks.

Hi Joey , sorry you didn’t get much rain. I got about 4 teens but we got about a 1 1/2 inches at the farm . We needed it on the pastures. That’s a nice yard toy L O L. Bought my bobcat last year and it sure did cut my cutting time down. When Big Apple Farm supply delivered it they said it would probably be the last mower I'd ever have to buy if it's maintained like it should be.

Hey Joey, awesome video. That mower looks great. Yes sir if your Hastings Prolific does come out of the drought and produces quality ears, you should save some of it for seed. It will pass it's drought tolerant genetics to the seed and next year's crop with have the same genome characteristics.

Joey one thing about sweet potatoes they don’t need water to make sweet potatoes. Danny at Deep South last you proved that . And I had slips come up in my greenhouse last month. The potting soil was dry as a bone . But I did give them a little once I saw the slips . And yes I planted them in the garden and will be doing more this week . And Praise the Good Lord we finally got some rain last night. We got just a little over a half inch . So hopefully I can get some peas to come up now .

When i was looking at hustler and only had lawn tractors i went with Sdx 54" because of the deck discharge chute and casters.I run with chute up and needed a full deck for protection ,that need push me pass the Sd.And sdx is squirrely on hills too you have to keep power to both wheels or it will fishtail ,thats mostly downhill with tilt

We used to can a lot , when I would can tomatoes or can salsa I would make the biggest mess! I would line the counters and the floor with newspapers. Leno really keeps it neat, I’d have tomato juice all over me. We’re real dry here also, want to plant two more rows of sunflowers it’s so dry I can’t pull up the rows. I agree if I lose some of what I plant it’s ok. Praying for rain for the farmers.

Joey put some pelleted gypsum in pre plant for that blossom end rot and fertilize the tomatoes with calcium nitrate when they start blooming. If your ph is right that will cure the problem.

Any tips? I planted Jimmy Red this year, 150 in a grid of rows on flat ground. I added mushroom compost and dusted twice in the season with pellet fertilizer. In total, maybe 20 are decent size. the rest are 4-5" so really small along with the stalks. We had decent rain too.

Joey if you was in my garden trying to plant dem dare squash seeds , well you would have to dig about 5 to 6 inches to get any moisture. And then u better water water and more water and they still don’t come up . I know mine ain’t come up yet .
